LOBAA12 - Hudson City Park in Grove Hill, Alabama
Sally bike mileage - 80.08 miles, 6:11:35 time
Sally total - 700.7 miles
Bill bike mileage - 0 miles
Bill total - 256 miles
Right now we're sitting in a cafe with internet access so we're taking
advantage of the cool air and catching up. Just ate a real southern
meal, fried pork chop, collard greens, candied yams and cornbread,
washed down with sweet tea. Tasted good, but next time I'll forgo the
collard greens! Got up and going at dawn, but it was hot early and the
sun beat down all day. I sure was ready to be in camp by the time I
got there. Lots of trucks the last 20 miles and they had a rumble
strip on the shoulder so I got pounded every time a truck came along.
Oh well, it's done now. Tomorrow we leave this road so hopefully it'll
be good riding. I had a great morning on a very quiet road. We are
camped at the city park so got my first solar water shower in camp.
Water was actually a bit too hot, but clean feels so good. Decided to
eat out since we are so close to town and the coolness feels heavenly.
Humidity sure makes it stuffy. I've been craving an ice-cream cone but
for some reason in this hot climate no one sells them. Go figure. Sally

Hi Sally and Bill
I found your blog and photos. What fun to watch your progress! Hard to relate to the hot weather as it continues to be such a cold, gray, wet spring here. Will be heading over to see Mom this weekend. Take care and don't get lost. Extra miles on the hot days doesn't sound fun.
Glenn
Wow mom, your pickin up the pace. 268 miles in 3 days is flying, you'll be accross the country in no time at that rate.
Lee
Hi again
I am in Madras and just reviewed your website and entire trip with Mom. Look forward to the latest news.
Poured rain last night in Madras. I went for a bike ride to Round Butte this morning. Smells and colors were fantastic, but it was cold! Can you relate Sally?
Safe travels
Glenn
Sally,
I can't believe you can ride so far in one day! 90 miles? Eeek.
Julie
Hello Bill! What a great ride you are having. I missed the reason Sally has so much more mileage than you - ? I will review the blog, dig up the info somewhere? We Vails in New Zealand are also biking just about every day. Mountain biking, that is. Beautiful forests, and trails technical and endurance-oriented. Check out our blogsite: vailstonewzealand.blogspot.com or the town's: www.rotoruanz.com/attractions/detail.php?id=7.
We do fall down, and get hurt, as I suppose the chances fortell. Julian actually broke both arms :( but is better and loves to ride.
Take care and we all send you safe wishes...I will really miss you soon as I backup my Mac (I know, I have avoided the task)-! Cheers-
Heather, Ron, Laleyna and Julian
