After our customary breakfast of oatmeal and raisins, we were on our
way early for a long day of driving to Julie's. We stopped at a truck
stop for a second breakfast of eggs benedict and a delicious coffee
cake around 10 a.m. Then, around 2 p.m. we stopped again and
introduced Sally to a Cracker Barrel restaurant where we had chicken
and dumplings. The scenery, traffic, and weather changed considerably
today ... from flat and dry with little traffic to hilly wooded
rolling hills, cloudy humid weather and very heavy fast moving
traffic. We arrived at Julie's at 6 pm and found the key she had left.
Today was a heavy work day for Julie and she was at a recital given by
her students. She had left us a humorous note suggesting several
things we might do to entertain ourselves while she was out and the
one we opted for was mowing her lawn. It felt good to be active again
after all the driving. Julie has a great home with a large lot and a
lot of fast growing grass. This area is about 5 inches above normal
for rainfall thus year. Julie has to work part of a day tomorrow so
Sally & I will check out the Katy Trail on the bikes, weather
permitting.

Hi Sally and Bill, I am thinking this is the way to communicate with you - if not, let me know! Love the blog, especially when you put the place you are that day. Sounds like a beautiful trip. Yellowstone is one of my favorite places on earth - it has everything. Hope the weather is cooperating with you. Have fun, Ann
Happy Mother's Day, Sally (and you, too Bill!).
Ed & I had breakfast at Bertie Lou's this morning and I thought of you.
Glad you're having such a great time!
