No rain last night but a bit colder - high 30's. After a wonderful
breakfast of homemade Belgium waffles which contained steel cut oats
and pecans and coffee cake, we bid farewell to Inez and Gretchen and
headed out. We dipped into 5 states today, the most of the trip -
Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The
weather was cool and sunny when we started and got better as we
continued south. The hi-light of the day was a short drive along the
Blue Ridge Parkway where we had lunch in the grass at a rest stop
overlooking the North Carolina countryside.
