I have started investigating possible LOBAA routes using Google Maps. The routes would ultimately have to be modified to ensure that they are bike & camping friendly but I did tell Google Maps to avoid highways so these routes should be somewhat representative of the scale of the adventure. Based on our discussions we figured that the ride should take about 2 months. So, assuming 63 days for the ride, that makes 9 weeks and with 1 rest day per week, that leaves 56 days for riding. I used this number when calculating the average miles per day on the following routes.
On the maps that follow, click the + or - or arrow buttons to zoom in or out or move around on the map, click the Map button for a map view, and click the colored waypoint buttons to view the name of the waypoint. You can also click the View Larger Map link to go to the Google website and get even more details.
Route 1 is from Reedsport, OR to Orange Park, FL and inludes waypoints in Madras, Halfway, Custer, SD (Badlands) and Columbia, MO where niece Julie lives. The total distance is 3,465 miles (62 miles per day).

Route 2 is a route that adds Amesville, OH to the mix. The total distance is 3,920 miles (70 miles per day).

Route 3 is the same trip ending in Old Saybrook, Connecticut (CT) instead of Florida. The distance would be 3,779 miles (68 miles per day).
