LOBAA Day 8

5/10/08
LOBAA Log Day 8 - Blackhawk Campground near Cloverdale, IN
Sally bike mileage - 0
Bill bike mileage - 0
Jimmy odo - 143877.0
Today's driving distance - 321 (includes a few local miles in Columbia)
Total trip distance - 2551.9
Today begins the second week of our adventure. This morning Julie
whipped us up some scrambled eggs for breakfast and then it was off to
the local farmers market for food and plants. Sally found some
homemade pasta and fresh spinach and Julie bought more plants. We left
Julie's around 10 and proceeded down the highway towards St Louis.
Weather was hazy sun and clouds most of the day and we are starting to
notice the increased humidity. Temps in the high 60's. We crossed the
Missouri and Mississippi Rivers on highway 70 and 270 and could just
make out the St Louis Arch in the distance to the south. Then onward
into Indiana and to our campsite for the evening which is 25 miles or
so west of Indianapolis near highway 70. The campsite is a large
private camp with some permanent trailers. Since it is a weekend,
there are more folks than previous sites and because it is so large,
many folks drive around in golf carts. Sally whipped up a wonderful
dinner with what we had in the pantry including fresh spinach, fresh
pasta, green onions, mushrooms, all cooked and mushed together with 3
scrambled eggs. It was yummy and very filling (I chopped the
onions ). We are now just inside the eastern time zone so there is
still some light at 9 pm. Time for bed.

Sounds like you guy's are eating fine, I can almost taste the food cooking.

Did you guy's miss all the bad weather in the midwest this weekend?

To my adventure bud who has shared so much of her love of the outdoors with myself and others, I say "YOU GO GIRL". Bill, your photos and commentary are wonderful. Peddle far, be safe, eat well, keep your bug intake to a minimum, and take it all in!
