LOBAA Moved to 2008

Much has changed since my last entry at this blog site eons ago. LOBAA has been moved up by 2 years and will start on Saturday May 3, 2008. We have decided to ride from east to west so the May 3 date is the date that Sally & I will start driving to Florida. We expect to take about 10 days for the drive so the actual ride will start in mid May. During the drive out, we plan to stop in the Badlands of South Dakota, Columbia, MO to visit Julie and somewhere in Ohio to visit a friend of Sally's. The ride will begin in St Augustine, FL and end in Winchester Bay, OR . I have rejoined the Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) and have ordered cross country bicycling maps from them. We plan to follow the ACA maps to Wyoming and then do our own planning through southern Idaho (Boise) and across Oregon via Halfway. We will start the ride on the ACA Southern Tier route through Florida, then pick up the Underground RR route until it crosses the Transamerica Route which we will join until we reach Idaho. Hopefully Peg will join us part of the way in Florida and some of our Oregon friends and family will join us in Idaho and Oregon. The main rider will be Sally who I plan to escort safely across the country with the assistance of Wally, Jimmy and Cramalot Inn. I hope to ride about 1/3 of the way as well. We will use this blog site to do our planning and report our progress.
